But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Without faith it is impossible to please God.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n God gives a measure of faith to every man.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n So Jesus answered and said to them, \u201cHave faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, \u2018Be removed and be cast into the sea,\u2019 and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If we exercise the faith we have, mountains of difficulty will be removed.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our faith is increased as we hear God\u2019s words.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We are benefited by God\u2019s word as we apply it to our lives.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Faith is confidence in God which leads us to do His will.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n When He saw their faith, He said to him, \u201cMan, your sins are forgiven you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Faith can be seen. It is manifest in action.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n So Jesus said to them, \u201cBecause of your unbelief, for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, \u2018Move from here to there,\u2019 and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Little faith, as a mustard seed, can grow.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We are saved by grace through faith.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Grace leads to the obedience of faith.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Christian lives by faith.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2026do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We overcome the world through faith.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n There is a story that I have heard that I believe illustrates what faith is and isn\u2019t. There was a professionally tightrope walker who was doing his daring feats across a canyon without a catch net below him. The prospects of the potential catastrophe drew large crowds to watch his act. He successfully crossed the canyon on the tight rope, and then performed some juggling acts on the way back. He then got a wheelbarrow and pushed it across the tightrope ahead of him. As the crowd \u201cOoo\u2019d\u201d and \u201cAahhh\u2019d\u201d, the performer asked if the crowd believed he could successfully cross the canyon on the tightrope with a person in the wheelbarrow. Arms went up and the crowd cheered as they indicated that they believed that he could do it. But the crowd quickly went silent as the performer asked for a volunteer to get into the wheelbarrow. No one volunteered. You see, faith is not \u201cbelieving\u201d that the performer (Christ) can do it (get you across the canyon of sin and death that separates you from God). Faith is getting into and staying in the wheelbarrow (and that requires personal effort and sacrifice). It is easy to say we have faith. It is much different to demonstrate real faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n
