God: A Character of Love

Psalm 90:2

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world. Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

God is from everlasting to everlasting. This means that He is eternal; He has always existed and always will exist.


Daniel 2:20

Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His.

God is all powerful and all wise.


Daniel 2:21

And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.

God sets up and takes down kings (or presidents).


Isaiah 46:9,10

I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me. Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, “My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.”

He declares (or knows or predicts) the end from the beginning.


Isaiah 45:21

Who has declared this from ancient time? Who has told it form that time? Have not I, the Lord? And there is no other God besides Me, a just God and a Savior; there is none besides Me.

Only God has the ability to reveal the future, because only God knows the future.


Psalm 33:6,9

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

God is the all powerful Creator.


Exodus 34:6,7

And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty….”

God is patient (longsuffering / suffers long), gracious and merciful.


Jeremiah 31:3

The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying; “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”

God draws us with His love, He does not force or compel us to follow Him.


Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein.

He owns all the world and everything in it.


Psalm 19:1

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.

Even the heavens reveal to us His glory and teach us about Him.


Psalm 34:1-4

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

He invites us to praise Him, and He will deliver us from our fears.


Isaiah 41:10

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

He promises to strengthen us in all our difficulties. He is there for us, not against us.


Isaiah 43:10-13

“You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me. I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior. I declared and saved and proclaimed, when there was no strange god among you; and you are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and I am God. Also henceforth I am he; there is none who can deliver from my hand; I work, and who can turn it back?”

He promises to be with us even through our greatest trials.


Hebrews 13:5

He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

He promises to never leave us nor forsake us. He cares About Us that much!
